Since the last post, my life has been crazy...in a good way! I am in no way complaining, trust me!
After my last (and my first) blog post, Johnny and I went on his post-deployment leave. We took a trip to Colombia, South America, where his family is from. Colombia is not as scary as people make it out to be, and it is quite honestly a beautiful and interesting place. I not only learned a lot about Colombia and the culture, I also learned a lot about Johnny's family and about Johnny himself. We spent about 10 days in Colombia and I cannot wait to go back!
After our two week vacation (and 20 hours of driving to and from Florida) we had a few days together before I was off to good ole NY to visit my family. My Grandma, Gloria, turned 80 years old on November 4th and I surprised her for her surprise party! It was so great to spend a week with my family and spend lots of time with my Mom. She really is the best Mom and I am so lucky that she is mine!
On my journey back to Hicksville, my flights were all screwed up due to awful fog in NY, and then for some unknown reason in Charlotte. I ended up landing back in good ole J'Ville around 9:00pm (originally scheduled to land around 5) and could not have been happier to see the smiling, handsome face of my soon-to-be-but-at-the-time-did-not-know fiancee! I gave him a much needed hug and kiss and we were off, on our way back home.
On our way to the house we spoke about my week in NY as well as if we were ever going to get engaged (of course i started the conversation being the nag that I can be sometimes). When we got to the house, we took all of my bags in from the car and proceeded to bring them to our room before going out for dinner. I opened the door to our bedroom and found pink and red rose petals all over the floor and the bed; me being the oblivious person that I am, did not think much of it and just simply smiled thinking Johnny was being romantic since he missed me. I continued into the room to put my things down and as i turned around to give him a kiss and tell him how pretty it was, I found him down on one knee, with a ring in his hand asking me to marry him. I began to cry, and just stood there, in shock. I then went over and gave him a hug and a kiss and continued to cry and he told me to stop crying. I said no...to the crying part....he jokingly said 'No?!" I, of course, accepted his proposal (I'd be a silly cotton headed ninny muggins if I hadn't!)! Then he asked if I wanted to see the ring since up to that point, I hadn't even looked at the ring!
It's funny, your whole life you think about someone proposing marriage and you always think that the ring will be the most important part of it, but when you find Mr. Perfect, a ring doesn't matter; the fact that your Mr. Right loves you for who you are and wants to spend the rest of his life with you, is what matters; the ring is just an added pretty sparkly thing. I have found my Mr. Perfect; my missing puzzle piece; my rock.... and i consider myself the luckiest girl.
Then last Friday night we had the Marine Corps 236th Birthday Ball in Greenville, NC. We had a blast that night and I wish we could dress up and go to a ball all the time. I cannot wait for the ball next year! Yes, Mila Kunis was at our ball. She looked pretty, yet understated. She did not stand out from the crowd and was not the center of attention. She sat at the next table, and yet, if someone hadn't pointed her out, I never would have known she was there.
That brings us to Thanksgiving. Johnny had to work a 24 hour shift today, so we are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow afternoon. I ended up volunteering at a soup kitchen this morning/afternoon and had a good time. I think I may get back into doing volunteer work; it's such a wonderful thing!
I've got a long day of black friday shopping and turkey ahead of me! Good night!

Hello blogging world!
Alright...so a couple of people thought I should venture out and write a blog. Apparently some people are interested in what is going on in my everyday life, and the events that I encounter. I don't really find it that interesting. I've never written a blog, so I'm just testing it out to see how the whole thing works. I hope you enjoy and decide to continue reading as I explore many aspects of my life such as; living the life of an unemployed, soon-to-be full time student, military spouse, and a girl on an adventure finding out the best way to be a perfect housewife. My life is pretty calm and somewhat boring at times, and then others, it's exciting. I take things day by day and my thoughts are that, everything happens for a reason...
